Highlander's Farewell

from by Galax Bogtrotters

Highlander’s Farewell

One of the most unique and interesting tunes from renowned, Galax, VA fiddler Emmett Lundy (1864 - 1953). Many of Lundy’s tunes came from “ol’ man Greenberry Leonard” (1810 - 1892) – the brag fiddler of the region who was never recorded. Fortunately Lundy was recorded by Elizabeth and Alan Lomax. Erynn and Carl can see his tombstone from their kitchen window
